Why You Need a Singing Demo:
If you’re auditioning for character work, especially animation, casting want to hear you sing! Whether you sing in your natural voice or in character, they want to know if the songs that were written for the show will come to life… through you!
Commercials utilize singing for comedic effect or to dramatize their product. Whether it be a short jingle or a campaign that highlights a larger than life quality, showing off your singing skill set through a demo will help you stand out from the crowd.

Our recommendation is to have a singing demo that shows off a variety of styles that you can do comfortably. You should pick songs that are meaningful to you and present different character archetypes. Songs that show your vocal range are a major asset in making your singing demo shine.

What does the demo production process look like?
Consultation:
Interested in creating a singing demo with Nadia? Fill out the Singing Demo Intake Form to get started. This form asks about your singing background, genres you want to feature, goals for this demo, etc. Please have singing examples ready (either mp3, mp4 or links) to send over to Nadia to give her a clear view of your vocal styles and singing level.
Once you have completed the Intake Form, Nadia will reach out to schedule a consultation call to further discuss your goals, song ideas, and provide more information about the process.
Coaching:
If you would like to coach on sections of your singing demo with Nadia, you can schedule a coaching session with her to make you feel confident!
First demo payment – 50% deposit
After your consultation, start the demo production process by making your first demo payment to secure backing tracks and have an additional consult with Nadia as to which song sections would best highlight your singing.
Recording Day!
Hydrate well the day before, warm up your voice and get ready to sing the sections of the songs you have chosen! Nadia and Gopal, our fantastic audio engineer, will direct you and help make your singing voice shine!
Demo Revision & Approval
You have two rounds of demo revisions included in the price of your demo. This is the time to make any changes before getting the final files.
Final demo payment – 50% remaining balance
After your final approval of the demo, make your final payment to receive the fully edited files and samples.
Additional Demo Revision
If you would like to make any additional changes after using your included revision rounds, you can purchase an additional revision round.
When should I record my singing demo?
If singing is a major skillset for you that you would like to be able to showcase in a professional reel, then a singing demo is the right choice for you. If you haven’t had a voice lesson, occasionally sing in the shower, or only sing when a karaoke machine is present, then maybe this demo is not the right fit.
Singing demo production is provided to talent who are ready to make a singing demo. As a reminder, our singing demos are not a guarantee for future work.
Do I record in-person at a studio or do I record virtually?
There are three ways we can record your singing demo.
(Recommended) Option 1:
If you live in Atlanta, GA or live close by, you can record in studio at Watership Studios on Lambert Drive during their off hours or on the weekends. If you need to book during the daytime work hours, we can check in with Watership Studio’s schedule to secure studio time.

(Recommended) Option 2:
You can record with a local studio in your area that you trust and you can patch us in through SourceConnect. You can focus purely on the singing portion while the engineer at your studio runs the backing tracks for you. All your engineer needs to do is send us the vocal files so we can work our production magic! Please note that you will be responsible for the in-studio cost.
Option 3:
You can record from home via SourceConnect. If you are using SourceConnect, we would request that you connect via ethernet to prevent dropouts of audio. We would also request that you record with a large diaphragm condenser mic (like a Neumann TLM103, U87, or similar). For singing, we want to capture more of your resonance. If you can record in a bigger non-reverberant space, that would also help. Though we understand that each space is different and that might not work. We can discuss further during our consultation call. We have both the 3.9 and 4.0 versions of SourceConnect.
How long should my singing demo be?
We aim to keep singing demos about 1:30 to 2:30 minutes long, depending on how many song clips you would like to have on your demo. Demos will be delivered whole and in sample sections so you can send specific demo samples to casting or for posting on your website and online casting profiles.
When will I get my final demo?
Demos will be delivered at least a week after recording your vocals. You get final approval of your demo.
